Harvey Jennings elected as new Spondon councillor

Harvey Jennings has been elected as the new councillor for Spondon following yesterday's local elections.

The Conservative candidate won 49.2% of the vote (2082 votes), beating Labour candidate Richard Morgan by 412 votes. Turnout was 43.3%.

The full results were:
Harvey Jennings (Conservative) - 2082 votes (49.2%)
Richard Morgan (Labour) - 1670 votes (39.5%)
Vanessa Griffin (British National Party) - 251 votes (5.9%)
Simon King (Liberal Democrats) - 229 votes (5.4%)
